Today, Minister of Health Silvia Pessah officially inaugurated the “La Medalla Milagrosa” Community Mental Health Center (CSMC), located in Manchay, in the district of Pachacámac. This facility is the 32nd Community Mental Health Center in the country, the tenth in Lima, and the second in the Manchay area.
This new center is the result of the joint efforts of the Ministry of Health and the Catholic Church (through the “El Espíritu Santo” Parish of Manchay), together with civil society, to strengthen access to quality mental health care across the country.
The “La Medalla Milagrosa” CSMC has a total area of 245 square meters and is staffed by 13 mental health professionals. It will provide mental health promotion, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services to nearly 100,000 people, helping to reduce rates of domestic violence, anxiety, depression, substance use, and other mental health challenges affecting the local community.
Let’s continue moving forward!
