Today marks the opening of “F-20: Lonely as a Schizophrenic,” the first solo exhibition by artist Lautaro Arrau, curated by Jorge Villacorta. The talented Lautaro was formerly treated at the Víctor Larco Herrera Hospital, where he was diagnosed with F-20, or schizophrenia.

Arrau’s artwork stands out for its vibrant colors and remarkable ability to communicate complex ideas through simple forms. His art contains a variety of narrative threads, ranging from his own interpretation of significant events in his life to the subjective projection of his existential experience onto an ordinary industrial object—a disposable plastic bottle—which is carried by the waters of the Rímac River to the sea and then transported by ocean currents from one end of Lima Bay to the other.
